The FileSafe 8500 IDE based tape subsystem takes advantage of the IDE bus found in most popular computers today. This drive shares the IDE bus with the hard disk. Mountain's MACH2 controller is embedded into the electronics providing the user with the convienience of Format-On-The-Fly, formatting the tape as required. With data compression, up to 305MB of tape capacity is provided.
